Fee Radar for iPhone and iPad

Privacy Policy

Fee Radar is designed as a private, lightweight flight-planning reference. This policy covers the app and its optional reporting and notification services. Feature availability depends on your installed app version.

Effective: October 1, 2026

Information We Collect

Fee Radar does not require an account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs. Your searches, selected aircraft, and map activity are not sent to Ford Family Ventures. If you choose to submit an airport update or enable airport-update alerts, we receive only the information described below for those services.

Optional Airport Reports

You can voluntarily submit a missing airport, fee correction, billing-company change, or other directory update. A report includes the airport identifier, the details you enter, and any airport name, billing company, or source link you choose to include. You may provide a reply email address, but it is optional. The report also includes a submission identifier and the app version and build to help us process retries and troubleshoot reports.

Reports are stored in a private review queue using Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1. They are not published automatically. We review and verify proposed changes before updating the airport directory. Your aircraft profile, precise location, aircraft tail number, searches, and flight history are not automatically attached. Please avoid including personal or sensitive information in free-text reports.

Report Retention and Service Spam Prevention

Reports, including any optional reply email, are retained in the active review service for up to 90 days. Verified airport facts may remain in the published directory after the original report is deleted; contact details are not published. You can request deletion using the contact address below. Deleted data may remain temporarily in Cloudflare's limited disaster-recovery backups until those backups expire.

To limit spam on report submissions and notification registration, the service computes a daily keyed hash (HMAC) of the connection IP address and stores short-lived daily counters. The application does not retain the IP address. Cloudflare may process normal network and security metadata under its own privacy policies.

Optional Airport-Update Alerts

Airport-update alerts are opt-in and require your notification permission. If you enable them, the app registers an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token, a randomly generated installation identifier, the notification environment (development or production), and the app version and build. The app also creates a registration secret to authorize changes to that registration; the service stores a hash of that secret, not the secret itself.

We use this registration to send airport-directory updates, including newly listed airports and material fee or billing-company changes. Alerts may include Fee Radar's recommendation to choose alternative airports on principle. They are not personalized using your location, aircraft profile, tail number, or flight activity. We do not use the registration for third-party marketing or cross-app tracking.

Registrations are processed privately using Cloudflare and Apple's APNs delivery service. Turning alerts off in Fee Radar requests deletion of the active notification registration, including its push token; an internet connection is needed to complete that request. After opt-out, we retain a minimal revocation record for 180 days containing only the random installation identifier, a hash of the registration secret, and timestamps—not an APNs token. This prevents a delayed registration request from turning alerts back on. You can also disable notification delivery at any time in iOS Settings. Invalid tokens are removed, and active registrations expire after 180 days without a registration refresh from the app.

On-Device Information

Aircraft selections, search text, sorting choices, and other app preferences are processed on your device for the app's features. Fee Radar does not use ADS-B to track your aircraft or retrieve your personal flight history.

Location

The current version does not request access to your precise device location. Map content is provided through Apple's MapKit services, which may communicate with Apple under Apple's privacy policy and device settings.

Airport and Fee Sources

Fee Radar includes airport, aircraft, and published fee-schedule information maintained for the app. When you follow a source link to an airport, fee operator, or other third-party website, that website receives the normal information associated with a web visit and applies its own privacy practices.

Diagnostics and App Distribution

Apple may make crash reports, TestFlight feedback, purchase records, or App Store diagnostics available to developers according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies. If Ford Family Ventures receives diagnostic information, it is used only to troubleshoot, secure, and improve Fee Radar.

Data Sharing and Sale

Ford Family Ventures does not sell Fee Radar user data or share reports or notification registrations with advertising or data-broker services. Cloudflare processes reports and notification registrations on our behalf to operate and protect these services; Apple processes push-notification delivery. We use an optional reply email only to follow up on the report or respond to a related privacy request.

Children

Fee Radar is intended for pilots and aircraft operators and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If a future version adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, location features, or other data practices, this policy will be updated before those practices apply.
